Things to note before coming to Singapore
1. Weather - can be quite humid and hot at times. Temperature can range from 24 degrees to up to 35 degrees. Cooler periods are from November to end January or early Feb.
2. Tipping - Singapore do not practice tipping. Most restaurants have a 10% service charge
3. Chewing/Bubble Gums - yes. I know many of u love it. It's illegal in Singapore, but I believe u can bring in a few of them into Singapore. Do not bring in a box of them. If u can't live without chewing gums, there are 2 solutions. U can buy the theuraptic bubble gum are sold in Watsons pharmacy but u have to provide them ur name and passport number. The second solution is to go to the neighbouring country-Malaysia to get the gums.
4. Safe - Yes. Singapore is a very safe country. However, it is not 100% crime free. There are black sheep around. Do not let down your guard. Like what the authorities always say "Low crime doesn't mean low crime."
5. Shops opening hours- Shops in shopping centres usually open at around 11am and close at around 9pm or 10pm.
6. Taxis/Cabs - Make sure that the Taxi cab fares must be charged by the taxi meter. They are based on a flag down rate and the distance travelled. The flag down rate ranges from S$2.80 to S$5.00 (depending on the type of taxi). A location surcharge may also apply.

7. Buses and Trains(MRT) - If u wanna explore the island yourself, be sure to purchase the ez-link card at the transit link office that is located in many of the MRT stations. Travelling around singapore using public transport is easy and convenient.
