 It has been a long time since I have updated my blog of the job portals.  The last time I updated was in 2009 here . Well many things have changed, here are some of the places you can look for jobs, job portals and more.  Job Portals MyCareersFuture - this is the official government job portal cater to Singaporeans and PR. You can also find the salary range of some of the jobs, which is useful, if you want to know if you are being paid adequately. If not of course,  you can want to consider a switch. JobsDB - this is another long standing job portal which has presence not just in Singapore, but in countries like Hong Kong and Thailand. Looking for Souvenirs/Gifts to buy back for your family and friends overseas? One of the good thing about being in Singapore is: U don't have to tip! yea! Some restaurants and cafes have included a 10% service charge. If a taxi driver charge u extra, remember u can take down his name, license plate and the taxi company and complain to the taxi company. Remember that the taxi drivers should always charge by the meter!

There are 4 different train transport lines in Singapore and they are: The North East line - Purple line The East West line - Green line The North South line - Red line The Circle line (just completed) Tips for u: If u are anywhere on the green line, and wants to travel to any stations after Khatib, I suggest that u take the green line and transfer at the City Hall instead of transferring at Jurong East. The distance between each station on the red line is further than the distance between each station on the green line. Thus, u will get to your destination faster if u travel on the green line, despite the fact that there are fewer stations to your destination in the red line. Travelling on the purple line is more expensive. If u want the cheapest way to your destination, be sure to plan your journey by visiting the smrt or sbs website.

Things to note before coming to Singapore 1. Weather - can be quite humid and hot at times. Temperature can range from 24 degrees to up to 35 degrees. Cooler periods are from November to end January or early Feb. 2. Tipping - Singapore do not practice tipping. Most restaurants have a 10% service charge 3. Chewing/Bubble Gums - yes. I know many of u love it. It's illegal in Singapore, but I believe u can bring in a few of them into Singapore. Do not bring in a box of them. If u can't live without chewing gums, there are 2 solutions. U can buy the theuraptic bubble gum are sold in Watsons pharmacy but u have to provide them ur name and passport number. The second solution is to go to the neighbouring country-Malaysia to get the gums. 4. Safe - Yes. Singapore is a very safe country. However, it is not 100% crime free. There are black sheep around.
