Running Review: Adidas KOTR 2012 - SINGAPORE
My First KOTR - 28 Oct 2012
Well, in short it was quite a well-organised 16.8km race, conveniently held at the Gardens by the Bay.
Just that at half-way through the race, the sun was a little too strong. I was glad I had a cap on.
Pre-race:
To sign up the fees are $45 for early bird, $50 during normal period.
You can choose which colour of the singlet you want and go down on the day of the colour you want.
For guys, if blue isn't your favourite colour, you can choose green or red.
For girls, if pink isn't to your liking, you can go for purple or like green.
On the race pack collection day:
The queue was long but it was fast too. There were also booths selling sponsors' products
Inside e race pack:
On the race day - 28 Oct 2012
After the race:
2 things I didn't like about the KOTR 2012 in SG
1) Insufficient isotonic drinks during the race and after the race.
2) The weather was too hot, almost unbearable. I know this is unpredictable, but really, it was just too hot to enjoy a good run.
Other than the 2 down sides, it was the Adidas KOTR SG run was quite well-organised and volunteers were quite efficient. The finisher's medal is quite pretty too! :D

On the race day - 28 Oct 2012
- The race was started promptly at 715am, there were 3 waves
- No long wait at the baggage deposit booth. Collection of baggage was fast too.
- Halfway during the run, the heat from the sun was almost unbearable.
- There were water points along the route but not enough isotonic drinks
- At the end of the 16.8km race, each person is only entitled to a finisher medal, one can of 100-Plus, one piece of banana and a bottle of Ice Mountain drinking water. I went to ask for one more can of 100-Plus to quench my thirst under the immense heat but was turned down. "Each person is entitled to one can" I was told. :(
- There were also booths where you can take photos
- You can also track your real time race timing and pace on the KOTR website - using RTRT.me which is really awesome!
After the race:
- You can check your race results on the KOTR website
- Race certificates will be available electronically one month after the race
