e-shopping: Online Bookstores

e-Shopping is the craze these days. With the Internet, you can easily compare the price of goods from one store with another. Let's us take a look at the online bookstores today!

International sites
Pros: Books can be cheaper than local stores! You can find books that are not available in Singapore
Cons: Take longer to arrive

- Book Depository: They offer free shipping to Singapore! Sounds like a good deal right?
- Amazon.com: Popular online bookstore. Although there is a shipping fee, but the price of the book + the shipping fee is can be cheaper than the price of the book at Book Depository.
- Alibris and Abebooks You can find both new and used books

Local sites
Pros: You can get your books much faster than international sites
Cons: The books on local sites might cost more

- Open Trolley: English books, self collect for free or $4.90 delivery charges-
- Popular bookstore: Chinese and English books. The costs of the books on its website are cheaper than its physical store. Offer self-collection for free or $10 for less than or equal to 10kg of items
- Kinokuniya: Chinese, English and Japanese books. No self collection. Shipping fee is $5. Free delivery only if u spend $50 or more. I find that the books in Kinokuniya are usually more expensive but you can find books here that are not available in other book stores :)
- Secondhandbooks: Books that you read once and never again? No fret, you can visit this website to buy or sell second hand books! :D

Others
- eBay - be sure to buy only from trustworthy sellers! :)
- Gmarket - Started from Korea, this online site has books, clothes and many other products on sale
